EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps people process and heal from trauma and other distressing experiences. Originally developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR was first studied for its effectiveness in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Since then, it has become a trusted therapeutic approach for a wide range of mental health concerns.
